Who are the Border Riders?

Founded in 1969, the Border Riders Motorcycle Club provides social and educational opportunities for members and other gay men interested in recreational motorcycle touring.  The Border Riders Motorcycle Club is the largest and one of the oldest gay motorcycle clubs in North America.  Our diverse membership hails mostly from Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia.  Composed of seasoned as well as novice riders, we come from all walks of life and professions.

The Border Riders Motorcycle Club promotes motorcycle safety and education, on safe and legal machinery, following all applicable laws and regulations.  Most rides and events are open to all legally licensed and insured motorcyclists who wish to participate.  All motorcycles must be capable of freeway speeds and in good running condition. The commonality that binds us is the love of motorcycling and the enjoyment that comes from touring some of the best roads for motorcycling in Canada and the USA—all in a spirit of friendship and safety.  Our members ride a variety of makes and models of motorcycles

We host a run and campout weekend monthly from May through October.  We also host day rides and socials (meet and greets) in Portland, Seattle and Vancouver BC.  Whether you prefer a short day ride, 2 - 3 day ride and campout, or an extended trip with a small group you will find an event to fit your riding style and ability.  Registration is required for the weekend rides and campouts.  See our Runs & Events section of the web site for this schedule.

On behalf of the Border Riders Motor Cycle Club thank you for your interest. We invite you to ride with us and to explore the club and the great area we are lucky enough to call home.
